Dang, where are you people when I play (though, no, I want to finish this game first in my own way, so tis only a joke).

I have not done much in this game so far (main is level 17 at the druids #$%%@ quest where you have to be faster than the enemy, my secondary is at D'alessio seabord and I may finish with her first, at least I'm having more fun with her) so little chance to do much. Mostly at this point I will sometimes group with low level people (but then, being a terrible grouper and exlusive henchie user I can't offer much more than a lot of damage and I will live).

In other games I usually give away quite bit. I played Dark Age of Camelot for quite a bit as a crafter, gave away many bronze to silver (IIRC, been quite a while and many games in between) weapons, usually sold what I could craft at about a 5% profit (Adamantium at when I quit, at the time that was pretty high as it went, I do not know about now). I suspect that after my time actually playing this game comes to and end (almost always a PvE only player) I will spend time waiting for updates doing something similar. I'm having much more fun with Guild Wars than I did with any other online game, much closer to a single player - and I play them ad nausium.

My guildies get first dibbs on the rare drops I get - free, of course
Anything left behind either gets stored away, salvaged or sold to merchant/players
If a stranger asks me for money, and I have the time, I'll teach them how to farm instead

At one point I had too many runes and wanted to get rid of them so I went to ascalon and posted "Many minor and major runes for 100gp for all of them". Everyone thought I was a scammer and finally one brave soul bought 15 misc runes for 100gp.

At another time I had to dragon swords both of them were 1 pt below max and I offered them for 500 gp. One guy wouldn't take em cause they were below max. And this is when fiery dragon swords were going for upwards of 20k.

Finally one guy was like 500 for both? I said yes and immediately he had hit trade and popped 500 gp in the window lol. I told him about the other guy and we both had a good laugh.

my guild leader helped me get my un-infused ranger from Iron mines to Grotto and then proceeded to give me 10k to help towards ranger druid armor. How nice of him. I usually give runes away to any guildmate or friend that needs ones I've found. And I also go back through lower missions and help out others... and show of future armor and skills they can get.

Giving out free stuff to your guildmates is easy, but giving out free stuff in town (like i did yesterday) seem to be non-existen.

When I've started chars (and I seem to do that a lot even though they don't last long), I always give away the left-over spider legs, gargoyle skulls, etc. that the collectors take for the pre-sear armor. Mainly because it hacks me off to see people saying "spider legs, 20g each". I don't know why that fries me, but it does, so I always say "Who wants free spider legs?"

That stuff accumulates so fast, and it's my little bit of karma for the day. I don't have mucho gold, so that's the best I can do. My husband thinks I'm crazy, he says the people I give them to are the ones that are selling them, but I give them away anyhow.

OTOH, whenever I see anyone say "Need gold, plz help i'm poor," I always reply "Get a job."

With nothing really left to do in the game I've taken up farming as a passtime. I find it fun and all, but what I really enjoy is giving away desert collector items to newbs. They're incredibly easy to come by for a farmer, afterall.

I generally only give stuff away to people under lvl 10 in Ascalon city, and I make 'em seek me out (near an NPC) to weed out the annoying people who don't sincerely want the item. A few still slip through, but it's worth it to make some newb's day.

lol I'm also one of the people who can't stand dealing with others in a buy/sell scenario, so I generally give away max or near max damage purple or gold weapons to newbs too, as long as their requirements are low enough to be usable. Anything that isn't "perfect" is so annoying to sell that I'd rather give it away to someone who will use it and be thankful for it.

There are so many items which are awesome weapons, but you'll have heck trying to sell them because there just isn't a market for non-perfect items in this game. Only +12% while hp > 50%? Sorry, they don't want to spend precious gold on it. lol It's so much nicer to give it away to some newb after advertising it only as "a nice hammer." The surprise and delight I can add into someone's gaming experience is worth more than all the gold I've every gotten.

I wish I was rich enough to give stuff away. But usually when I have the money or stuff I just tend to give it away. When I quit RO I gave all my stuff away, and sold the big stuff into a cash pot I gave away in a compo

With the max weapons that take up space in my inventory I give them to people who spam "WTB Max ______." It makes me feel all warm and tingling inside. But now I'm low on gold. And I don't want to farm.

I love free giveaways!! It's how I make money!!! Hang around in Droknar's Forge and ask for money for your armor. I can make 100k in less than an hour usually. It's the only way to bank!

YEah i'm surprised at how many people will give away gold and stuff considering how hard it is the farm anything worth value now.

I've never given anything away, except to friends. I've always sold stuff towards the low end though.

I "gave" away two Black Dye for 16 Gold (instead of 16 Plat.)

Does that count?

BTW, some nice stories here. Good people!
